| Located
on the north side of Paros and enclosed by a small yet
safe port, Naousa lies in a fantastic geographical position
along with its surrounding harbor, and because of that,
it has been inhabited and urbanized since ancient times,
just like its sibling town, Parikia. At present, Naousa
is a popular tourist attraction that's visited by the
droves because of its outrageous nightlife, relaxing beaches,
progressiveness, and traditionalism.
Naousa's coast ends at a lighthouse and begins in Damouli—a captivating beach hotspot that is well worth the effort of accessing through a very steep road. Next to it is the Ambelas settlement, which is a quiet beach with fresh fish and clean waters. If you follow the dirt road to the beach instead of the paved road, the sight of kingfishers and the innate attractiveness of the magnificent scenery will leave you mesmerized and awestruck.
Just take a right at the forked road, and the unkempt road will take you straight to Santa Maria, which is one of the more well-known beaches in Paros Island. If you'd rather have more peaceful bays to the bustling mass of humanity found in Santa Maria, there are many other stunning beaches on the way from Santa Maria to Naousa. You can even sit back and enjoy the enchanting scenery and sparkling waters on any one of the other, less crowded beaches such as Iconomou, Xifara, and Lageri.
On Naousa's edge lies Saint Anargiri, another popular tourist hangout, especially for those who like to stay close to the beach. On the other side of Naousa lies Piperi, a beach that is also located where the road to Parikia starts. If you choose to further traverse this road, you will come to a junction that will take you straight to Kolimbithres, a beach with geological marvels such as enchanting cliffs and emerald waters that are just waiting to be explored. If you keep driving, you will even reach Monastiri, which is yet another beach that gets swarmed by tourists every day of the week.
